Making Things Happen, NYC, Part I:

June 7th, 2011

December 2010 was a month of great strides for me. I decided to embark on a journey that would change the way that I worked with my clients, how  I managed my business, and the types of weddings and events that I plan and design. One of the many things on my list of personal goals was to attend an Engage! Conference. I’ve been swooning over this Luxury Wedding Business Summit since the first one. Guess what? I made it happen in December. I registered! The funny thing is that while trying to dig deeper into the conference, its attendees, and past program agenda, I came across a link for Lara Casey, I knew of her and SWM but did not know about all the other fascinating projects she was involved with. I was intrigued and of course Google works wonders so I was able to find out a bit more about her and her remarkable work. Lara is the brilliant founder of Southern Weddings Magazine, Lara Casey Reps, Making Things Happen, Making Brands Happen and now Making Babies Happen (she’s happily expecting her first child) and is now someone I consider a friend! Coincidently, she was going to be in NYC with her MTHNYC2011 intensive.  I read about it a bit more and told myself, “What, there is someone out there that speaks about the beautiful things in our lives that are only possible if we believe in ourselves?” I had to meet her. I really didn’t know what the intensive was going to be like but for some reason I knew I had to be there. So about 3 days after I registered for Engage!11, I registered for MTHNYC2011. I was on a roll! I attended this intensive with the belief that it was going to make a difference in my life. I was right! It was absolutely one of the many life–altering experiences that has happened to me in the last 10 months.  Lara really made an impact and left me with the desire to truly assert myself and to raise the bar and place my work and my business at an even higher level. I hope you come back to visit next week. I’ll be I’ll be sharing what that day meant to me in one of my next posts Making Things Happen Part II.  Can’t wait to share!
