By now you all know how much I love fashion so it is no surprise that I had to write a post on the amazing designs that have been popping up on runways and on the pages of magazines. The trends for this spring and summer touch on so many things I love- bold prints, bright, happy colors, a twist on wardrobe classics and a bit of edge. There’s a nod to the best parts of the 70’s with pair-me-with-bare feet florals and twirl-me-all-night lame, and eighties babies will love the geometric shapes and big shoulders. Today, I am I am thrilled to share a few of my favorite looks I plan to have fun with in the coming months.
Stripes One of my favorite things to do is to enjoy the ocean with my family which is one of the many reasons I am so thrilled to see those fun, big beach stripes everywhere. Those looking for something a little more subtle will be pleased to know that banker stripes are in (big time).
Bright colors Happy colors always put me in a great mood and while I appreciate black’s chic edginess, there’s no denying the impact of a pop of color. This season, the runway was full of bubblegum shades, specifically, pink (fuschia, raspberry and baby shades) and brighter shades of yellow (no mustard, please).
Square shoulders Though I am not a huge fan of the padded shoulders seen on Dynasty reruns, there is something about the exaggerated silhouettes seen on the runway that exudes personal power and confidence, two things I always love to see on a woman.
Trench coats I personally consider a high-quality trench on the same level as a classic LBD. This season, designers like Balenciaga are giving a modern makeover to the wardrobe staple and the result is a new timeless design.
