Krikor! Where have you been all my life? Last year I was introduced to Krikor’s haute couture designs when one of my bride’s dream was to have him design the dress for her first dance. She was head-over-heels for him. Once I did a little research, I shared in her obsession! The embroidery, pearls, lace, flowers, and countless details had me at hello. His dresses are for all occasions, there is no question you’ll be showstopper when you walk into a room with his design. Nothing screams graceful more than Krikor Jabotian. The woman who wears his designs appreciates details and unparalleled craftsmanship. There is no question that he pays homage to to the female form. His designs are art defined by simple elegance and luxury. When Regina King wore his dress last year to the Emmy’s as she accepted her award, I immediately thought it might be his design. Sure enough, it was and that was perhaps one of the most life-changing moments of his career.
Her’s a little snippet about Krikor:
A fresh graduate of l’Ecole Superieure des Arts et techniques de la Mode in Beirut, Krikor Jabotian began working at Elie Saab’s creative department, an all-encompassing and enriching introduction to the industry.
After Krikor stepped out and began developing his own independent designs, he was selected by Starch foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Maison Rabih Kayrouz, to showcase his work. It was the first collection he designed under his own name, marking the beginning of his independent career.
After the success of Starch, Krikor set up his own atelier at the young age of 23. It served him for a while, but it was when his family joined certain aspects of his work and established their family run business, that Krikor Jabotian truly flourished into a vibrant space where his work and imagination thrive.
I cannot explain what his designs do to me! Just take a look at some of Krikor’s 2016 collection and call me in the morning! I”m intrigued to hear what you like most about his designs. Do share.
