I don’t know about you but I love to travel! So we came up with a few travel destinations to visit in 2018. You see, destination travel is my thing. As a Caribbean girl I appreciate clear waters, incredible views, boats, spas on the beach, and everything that defines relaxation. However, I absolutely love the mountains, exotic destinations, cool outdoors, and interesting landscapes. For this reason I wanted to share some interesting destinations that cover all categories.
Destinations drum roll please!
There is something absolutely captivating and mystical about the red rocks. I’ve been to Arizona over a dozen times but I’ve never really been to the Sedona region. I’m thrilled that we will be vacationing there during the second quarter of this year. Seems like Enchantment Resort is the place to be. My friends are raving about it, so I can’t wait to experience it!
Our interest in Marrakesh is definitely fashion oriented. The fashion designing legend Yves Saint Laurent now has a museum completely dedicated to his work, which we think is reason enough to visit, but for those of you that need more convincing, let us continue. I know I am always looking for the perfect design piece to create a look I am trying to establish in my home, by visiting the Marrakech Souks & Market; there are thousands of unique craftwork, fabrics, and jewelry sold to complete any design. We’ve heard nothing but great things about The Mandarin Oriental.
Los Cabos, Mexico
If there was ever a place to party like a celebrity, it would be in Los Cabos, Mexico. The intense night scene has been pulling in tourists for decades. A bar that attracts both tourist and locals for the authentic party scene is El Squid Roe or its next-door neighbor, a more traditional scene, Mandala. There are plenty of five-star options to stay in like Four Seasons, the newly opening Ritz- Carlton reserve Zadun, and the first Nobu Hotel in Mexico. However, the best memory of Cabo for me was at Villas Del Mar. We had one of the best family vacation ever. My kids always bring it up as one of their favorite places on the map.
Buenos Aires, Argentina
While Buenos Aires continues to be a well-known capital to tourists, now is the best time to visit it if you have not had the chance to. Argentina is rich with amazing ever-growing cuisine brought in as many foreigners discover this land, for example, Asian cuisine and an American favorite, sushi style restaurants. Their culture makes you feel like you are in a wonderland. During the tango world championships, you will be able to see experts from around the world express their passion through their moves and music. After seeing the breathtaking scenery like the incredible Iguazu Falls, the perfect place to lay back in luxury is in the Faena Hotel with their lavish rooms and views over the city.
I may be a little biased since this is where my roots lie. The rich cuisine is incredible and the best foods are in small mom and pop restaurants (whole in the walls). While I love Cap Cana, Punta Cana, and Casa de Campo, and of course Santo Domingo; my favorites little place will forever be Las Terranes in Samana. It’s as authentic as they come. I love that it’s a seaside village that still has over 8 miles of virgin beach. It’s a melting pot and it’s population is pretty much from all over the world. The locals are an absolute gem. Although, we’ve stayed in private homes, I absolutely j’adore Sublime. It’s for sure my happy place.
